Women4Real launched in 2013 and our first project was a short video for social media outlets, to raise awareness around painful sex and vulvodynia – health issues that affect millions of women, but are often under-reported and misdiagnosed.'Painful Sex vs. ‘Normal’ Sex: the Differences Explained With Food' went viral on You Tube with more than 100,000 views, inspired media coverage in The Telegraph and HuffPostUK, and was a finalist for ‘Sexual Health Media Campaign of the Year’ at the UK Sexual Health Awards 2014.
Through our diverse portfolio of activities we aim to raise awareness, influence policy and empower and support women in relation to their health, sexuality and well-being.
Women4Real brings together the experience and expertise of writer & media consultant Sally Turner (Creative Director) and health psychologist Sabine Tyrvainen (Executive Director).
We create arts and health initiatives, workshops and webinars, and innovative media campaigns - independently and in collaboration with a diverse range of organisations.
