A Mindfulness-Based Approach
Women4Real is providing an eight-session mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural (MB-CBT) course for women with PVD. This will be delivered via webinars. Please join our mailing list and we’ll keep you up to date with new developments. For further questions please contact us.
The impact of PVD on a woman can be significant. It can have a detrimental effect on self-esteem, quality of life, emotional well-being, body image and relationships.
Sometimes women are told that the pain is ‘all in your head’, implying that somehow they are imagining they are in pain, but there is no basis for it in reality. We know this is completely untrue. PVD is a very real physical pain but also involves the mind modulating effects of expectation, reward, control, ‘stress’ and mindfulness skills on the experience of pain.
Research has shown that there are thinking styles, individual characteristics, and personality traits that may increase one’s vulnerability to chronic pain.
This course provides psychological strategies for the treatment of PVD.
We provide one-to-one health psychology coaching tailored to chronic sexual pain issues, either face-to-face, via telephone or Skype. We also offer Neurofeedback sessions to help fine-tune attentional control and manage internal stressors. For further information and appointments please contact us.
